Best Outdoor Rooftops for Your Next Event

The best outdoor venues for your summer event are probably just steps away from your apartment. Fortunately in the warm summer months New York City tends to open it's backdoors to some of the most fabulous outdoor gardens and rooftop bars in the country. There in fact is an outdoor bar for every sort of event you can think of. Whether the budget is low or high there is an outdoor space that will effortlessly fit all of your needs.

One of the cities most fantastic outdoor venues is B Bar, or formerly Bowery Bar. This 1980s hotspot hosted celebs like Madonna and Andy Warhol in its heyday. Now B Bar is more of a restaurant and lounge with some dance floor activity on weekends. It's a fabulous place to host an outdoor dinner party. In cooler temperatures they even have heat lamps available in the garden.

Another fantastic option close by is a restaurant called The Yaffa Cafe. Yaffa is only an option for a quiet dinner party atmosphere. It's giant backyard and kitschy décor makes this a unique place to bring your closest friends for pitchers of Sangria and dinner or dessert.

If you're looking for something truly unique in terms of the outdoor experience Water Taxi Beach is a perfect place to bring a small group. This Manhattan pseudo-getaway is just a water taxi ride away from South Street Seaport. The beach features musical acts, special events and most importantly a bar. The ferries run consistently and the atmosphere is certainly unlike any conventional city restaurant.

The Roof garden at the Metropolitan Museum of Art is also another fabulous location with some great scenery. Soak up some culture then wash it down with some wine at this impressive but little known location with great city views. Though the food can get a little pricey this is a great place to escape the MET's tourism and kick back with the New York natives.

The Ava Penthouse Lounge on top of The Dream Hotel is another classy and scenic option. This adorable bar definitely has become a midtown staple. The panoramic views of the Hudson and New York skyline make for an amazing backdrop to all of your party photos. Ava Lounge also prides itself on cutting edge art and can accommodate private events.

Queens natives (especially Astoria) are almost entirely aware of the fantastic beer garden and local watering hole Bohemian Hall Beer Garden. This charming, low-key spot with $15 pitchers of beer wont just save you money on drinks but the cab home from Manhattan. This is certainly a summer hot spot and poorly kept New York secret. They have great drinks on tap and any beer enthusiast will love to try something new each time.

Regardless of the location an outdoor New York party is certainly a very special affair and comes complete with a gorgeous skyline, charming outdoor gardens or panoramic Hudson views. It certainly has an ambiance that you simply can't get elsewhere. This may be the perfect idea to make a party unique and a beautiful event to look back on.
